About Us

Registered Domestic Partners (RDP)

You Share a Life Together, and now the IRS recognizes that as Registered Domestic Partners, you share your income and expenses too.

The May 2010 IRS ruling on Community Property for Registered Domestic Partners requires that each RDP and same-sex spouse report on her or his federal tax return, half of the couple's combined income from personal services and community assets.

Through our expert counsel on RDP tax filings, we can help you minimize your tax liability by:

•Balancing the allocation of your itemized deductions to accurately and fairly distribute the tax    burden,
•For parents, consider which parent should claim dependent(s), head of household and the child    tax credit,
•Run projections to identify whether or not you would benefit from amending your 2009 and 2008 federal tax returns,
 •And more.
